The Zodiac Signs of Autumn

Libra, Scorpio & Sagittarius

Scorpio Season

October 24th - November 22nd

Scorpio Season brings us intensity. This is a time when we are called to deepen our thoughts, feelings and take time to go inwards. We are ready to excavate things that we’ve been holding onto. Libra Season took us on a journey towards peace and relationship building. The kind of peace that's necessary before you enter the depths. And the kind of relationship building that must happen before you become entwined with another. If we did it well, we are now ready to go deeper.

During this season, ask yourself what depths you'd like to travel. Would you like to deepen your connections with others? Perhaps deepen your connection with yourself and uncover a new understanding of what lurks within. Or maybe you'd like to strengthen your connection to spirit.

It’s no surprise that many cultures around the world had holidays during Scorpio Season where it was said that the veil was thin and we could reach our loved ones who’ve passed on. Holidays such Samhain and Dia de los Muertos marked days where ceremonies honored the thinned vein. Centuries later, many still use this season as a time to call onto those same rituals.

Scorpio is a Fixed water sign. Fixed signs are always in the sign in the middle of each season. They represent the time when we find ourselves steadfast within a season and fixed on the surety that we are indeed satisfied with exactly where we are. Fixed signs are stubborn. Water signs represent emotions. They help us to feel and connect with spirit. So Scorpio Season is a time when we are able to get to the deepest depths because our emotions are fluid and our hearts are steadfast. We are determined.

Ultimately, Scorpio Season is a time to deeply connect. It’s a time to connect with our ancestors, our closest relationships, our inner-most self and to the cosmos. It is a deeply misunderstood season. On a collective level, we find ourselves making light of those depths. Our society doesn’t really approve of the kinds of the places that Scorpio wants us to dive into. Sexuality, morbidity and all other things taboo belong to Scorpio. I see clues all around us that large portions of society are ready to take this season seriously. We are ready to feel again as a society. We are ready to allow for the unconscious to become conscious. On the flip side, perhaps those things are actually meant to be hidden, because if they weren’t, I suppose Scorpio might need to find something else. They are personal, and so we are able to go there when we are alone or with our closest connections, but collectively, we put on an unwavering face hiding the parts of ourselves we don’t want known. We’ll wait for Sagittarius Season to ponder those kinds of philosophical questions. But for now, allow yourself to feel what is necessary, connect on the deepest levels and perhaps take part in something taboo or mystical. You are supported in diving as deeply as your heart will allow.
